Nowadays,
the learning system is more complicated than before, but not strict as
before. The students thinking also more critical, it
will be harmful for them if they use the critical thinking in a wrong field.
For example is they use it for critic their teacher. Is it good or bad?
The
students right now is mostly a critical student. They can easily explore their
mind, they can say anything and they also can comment everything that they see.
Including their teacher, sometimes the student also comment and grade them.
Usually they divide their teacher into some parts, kind teacher, strict
teacher, funny teacher, modern teacher, traditional teacher, confusing teacher,
and so on. When they do that thing in understandable teachers, it will be okay
even the teachers will evaluate themselves. But if they comment their not understandable teachers, probably the student will get a problem by a
conflict between the student and the teacher. Actually, comment and grade the
teacher is okay, but we need consider and think before. If it is over, there
will be no benefit for us, instead of we
get a problem with them. Mostly, if the people see us do that thing, they will
think that we are very impolite.
In
the other side, we need to know why the student grade their teacher. Based on
the survey that I have done, the student grade their teacher because of teacher
performance when they are teaching. At that time they have point of view about
their teacher. Their comment will evaluate their teacher style when they are
teaching and the teacher will know the student want.
The dream begins with a teacher who believes in you,
who tugs and pushes and leads you to the next plateau, sometimes poking you with
a sharp, said Dan Rather .
As
the conclusion, I think that students are allowed to grade their teachers. Why?
Because the evaluation for the teachers are needed to increase the teaching
performance. By this case, teachers can know what their students want, so there
will be good relation between teachers and students.
